Mountain of Change

Lincoln once said: It often requires more courage to dare to do right than to fear to do wrong.

To do the right often requires change. Most people don’t like change because our life is so comfortable; it doesn’t really need the change. Even though the changes are for the good, do I really need to change?

Successful people love changes. Change is fun and exciting. Without climbing up to the top of the mountain, there is no way you can find out how great the view up there is.

Embrace Change! Climb the mountain of change. It is hard work, but it is fun and it is the only way to get you out of the valley.

Everything comes from your mind. What you believe is true is always true. What you don’t believe would never be true. People like to argue is this nature or nurture? As much as I am concern, it does not matter where it comes from, as long as you believe your ability. It will happen.

Board of Directors

Companies have board of directors. President has advisors. CEO has executive staff. Who are on your board of directors? Who is going to celebrate your victory? Who is your shoulder to cry on?

To achieve anything in life is a team sport. You may fly solo at times. But even flying solo would need people to help you get the plane ready, fuel it up and prepare you for take off. You are surrounded by other people’s creation ALL the times. Even when you are sleeping, you are wearing and sleeping on things that are created by others.

Just like running a company, you need to know what you are great at and what you are not. For the areas that you are not great at, find someone to be on your board of directors that can support and help on in those areas. Here are some areas to consider:

Products (Who are you? What will you be selling)
Marketing (How would people find out about you?)
Sales (How would you sell to others?)
Order (Who would you deliver?)
Services (Who do you keep your customer happy?)
Technology (IT)
Finance
People (HR)
Legal
Partners (Who else can help you in addition to your board of director?)

Millionaire's Emotion

We are injured and hurt emotionally, not so much by other people or what they say and don't say, But by our own attitude and our own response. - Maxwell Maltz

Do you get mad easily? Do you get sad easily? Do you get really happy easily? What kind of emotion do you fill yourself with?

Nothing has meaning except the meaning you give it. Realize that certain people upset you because you let them upset you. I am not saying you should play your emotion down. If you are happy or upset, face it and deal with it. Don’t tell yourself ‘it is okay’. If it is not okay, deal with it! Some of my loved ones often say, ‘It’s okay. I can deal with it.’ What they are really saying is that they will suck it up. Don’t suck it up.

Rich and Successful people deal with their challenges and problem by facing them, not avoiding them. If certain things are making you upset or angry, tell yourself that you are a bigger man (woman) that this silly challenge. Not only you are overcome this, you will take control of them.

You are a powerful and successful person and nothing can stop you!

Friends are food?

There are many levels of friends. Friends are like food to me. You can’t live without them, but you don’t necessary love to eat all of them all the time.

The Carbohydrate - Rice, Noodles
They are boring, but you need them. We don’t really care too much about them, but they are always there. We don’t usually put too much thought when we are cooking or eating them. They are just there. But if one day they go away… we would not be able to survive. Family belongs to this category too.

The Fiber - Vegetables
They are great for us! They provide extremely great nutrients (advice) that we really need (and hear). We don’t love them. Simply become they are not that exciting. We all know they are essential and we probably need to eat them everyday, but we usually don’t. If we only have vegetable everyday, we will be really healthy. But lots of time, we just avoid them and prefer the good stuff – the High Calories.

The High Calories – Meat, Dessert
They are so tasty, but so bad if you have too much. We cannot survive with only meant and sweets. We will die. We cannot only have friends that sugar-coat everything. But they are fun to hang with and they make you feel good. You got to live a little once in a while.

What kind of friends are you? What who do you have around?

Desire

Napoleon Hill once said:

There is one quality that one must possess to win, and that is definiteness of purpose, the knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.

Many people drifting life with great quality and purpose, but missing the burning desire. You might say you want something. How bad do you want it? If you don’t have it, what would happen? It cannot be NOTHING!

Imagine if a mother is in labor. Her doctor says ‘Push! You got to push the baby out!’ The mother say: ‘I don’t have the desire to do this….’ What could happen? Of course most of us are not experiencing labor and don’t usually encounter this kind of life and death situation on a daily basis. If the only way to get your desire out is to put yourself at streak in situation like this, you got to do it now.

What is your desire?

Just challenge

I have thousands of problems. Most of which never happen.
Mark Twain

I like this quote. We often worry and fear about thing that never happened. I remember Earl Nightingale once said 80% of our worries are on things that actually have 20% of chance of happening. Focus our precious energy on things that are truly important.

Life is short. We got to make it great! Problems are only challenges that we temporary cannot solve. You are a much bigger person than these challenges.

No thoughts are rent free

Nothing has meaning except the meaning you give it. We get upset on certain things or activities because that’s what we learn in the past.
Our mind tells us now it is time to be angry because someone cut you off on the road. Someone say things behind your back. Someone do you wrong by taking your business away. Your emotion was formed because you (your mind) decided that you need to feel that way when you experience that event.
It doesn’t have to be this way. Don’t give meaning or emotion to things that would not help you to achieve your goal. Pay attention and emotion to things that will help you to get there. Cutting you off on the road – so what? You don’t even know who this person is! Talk behind your back? So what? Does it really hurt you and take anything away from you? Not really.
Focus on the important things. No thoughts live your head rent free. Don’t waste your time and energy on silly things..

The Faith Poem

If you think you beaten, you are
If you think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you think you can’t
It almost certain you won’t

If you think you will lose, you are lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will
It’s all in the state of mind

If you think you are, you are.
If you think you are not, you are not.
You are always right.

Your plan or someone else's

If you don’t plan for yourself professionally or financially, you will become part of someone else’s plan. Take control of your life and freedom. Freedom will not come unless you take control.

When is the last time you plan? Plan for yourself? I am not talking about where you are going this week or dinner plan for tonight. Where will you be 5 years from now? Or even one year from now? How about 3 months from now.

In project management, people love using buzzwords such as project milestones, tasks owners, timeline, roadmap… Have you done a project plan for your life? Do you know what your next milestone is? Where are you going? How would know that you have gone off track if you have no plan?
Have you ever found yourself having a hard time saying no to someone when they ask you to do something? Well – this is because you have no plan and your schedule is absolutely wide open. You don’t know it is open for what. But it is open for something. You didn’t know what you are planning to do yet. And you cannot commit, but guess what? Since you didn’t plan it, now someone ask you to go out. You may hesitate, but you just end up filling up your schedule with other people’s event, tasks and you are busy!

Wanting to do or want to achieve something will never get you where you want to go. Take action, plan and do it! Fill up your own schedule with activities that are important to you.
